In 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which triggered 13 states to quickly ban abortions. Research suggests these bans could force many women to take desperate measures to terminate pregnancies and increase maternal mortality. To help women fight for their reproductive rights, Hey Jane and The Case for Her launched The Abortion Collection – a product line of household objects which were used by women to get abortions, packaged as “healthcare” products to send a simple message: abortion is healthcare.
The collection will be displayed in pop-up stores across the 13 states and on a website, with supporters able to purchase them symbolically by offering donations, and the funds going to organizations that help women regain control over their bodies.
