VML PERÚ and Por Un Perú Sin Cáncer turn rap’s most iconic gesture into a message of prevention
Testicular cancer is the most common type of cancer among men aged 15 to 35, yet 87% don’t know it. To break that indifference, Por Un Perú Sin Cáncer and VML PERÚ created Freetestyler, an activation that took the message straight to where young people actually listen: freestyle rap.
During the final of BDM in Perú, a key national rap event organized by the Rapsodia collective, top freestylers wore a special collection of pants designed by Perro Loco, a leading Peruvian streetwear designer who has dressed artists like Maluma. Each piece featured the message: “Check your balls daily,” encouraging young men to perform regular self-exams.
Freestyle icons like Skill (two-time FMS Perú champion), JC Snake (P09 champion), and finalists of BDM Magno Skill, Tyler, and Willy MC wore the pants and turned the stage into an act of prevention — spitting bars and transforming a gesture into a live self-exam.
An idea that turns rap’s most iconic gesture into an act of awareness.
