Zambia, known for its 24/7 power supply, faced an unprecedented challenge earlier in 2024 when the government announced indefinite load shedding, resulting in 8 hours of daily power outages. This unfamiliar and frustrating experience disrupted many Zambian lifestyles and sources of entertainment – or so it seemed.
We launched the DStv Stream app campaign titled "Always On" in Zambia. Through a social media campaign, we promoted the mobile app, ensuring Zambians could continue enjoying their favorite shows and content from DStv despite load shedding. Our communication materials vividly illustrated how DStv Stream brings light into darkness, ensuring our customers are always connected to entertainment. Recognizing that many Zambians were not familiar with load shedding, we also created Load Shedding Survival Kit videos. These videos educated our followers on activities to mitigate the effects of load shedding, including downloading the DStv Stream app.
