Rivers worldwide are under threat due to human failures. It is very difficult to control the quality of waters with such a small number of experts in hydrology. The last year catastrophe on Polish river Odra shows exactly how huge consequences the lack of control can bring to ecosystem.
The state of our environment in the future has become a concern for a Polish company called Expert, one of the main float producers in Europe. By taking the knowledge from scientists it has created Aguard - the first float to measure the water quality using the electroconductivity report sent to application. The data collected on the servers will become an aid for scientists in creating a map of a state of waters.
Mateusz Grygoruk - the main hydrologist from Warsaw University of Life Sciences says: “Aguard can help us to go to places in which we have never been before, it can help us to find out about the ecosystem that we didn’t know in the past.”
With Aguard, each of 1.5 mln fisherman in Poland has a chance to become a mobile water control station and create an effective net to control the quality of Polish waters more efficiency.
