If you consider that they're talking to New Yorkers and the way they (the audience) speak, it comes off humorous. They even got the paper plate to go with the whole spiel. Nice jab at Domino's as well.
Maybe a great strategy, but very poor creative. Shouldn't be here.
Apart from the rushed text layout of overlong copy - I guess the empty plate was a finished pizza?
When's the last time you had a pizza plate without bits left on it?
