Vahans Of Imagination

Durga Puja is one of the grandest festivals of India, especially for the Bengali community. It is a time when the excitement in the air is palpable and people gear up to live to their fullest.

A five-day long celebration, Goddess Durga along with her four children, Laxmi, Saraswati, Karthik and Ganesh are worshipped during these days. These Gods and Goddesses have Vahanas. For Ma Durga, Lion is her Vahan; for Laxmi, it is an owl; for Saraswati, a Swan; for Karthik, a peacock and for Ganesh, it is a mouse. According to mythology, it is believed that these Gods and Goddesses get on their Vahanas and set off on their journey to come down to earth and celebrate along with the mortals during the five days of Durga Puja.
