Description
Love is in the air at Méqui 1000! Last week, the brand’s most iconic restaurant was the stage of an unforgettable moment: a collective celebration* of six couples in love, all of them loyal clients of Méqui. They were the big winners of the contest “Méqui Happily Ever After”, which invited customers to share their love stories featuring McDonald’s as the special ingredient. The prize was a chance to celebrate their relationships in style, with all inclusive.
Located at the iconic Paulista Avenue, one of the top postcards of São Paulo, Méqui 1000 does not only stand out for its cuisine, but also for the cultural and social relevance of this iconic route, a vibrant symbol of the city. The restaurant, already known as a touristic spot, was now taken by the romantic atmosphere.
The storefront was adorned with flowers, a stylish red carpet and an exclusive space for the “newly-married” couples’ pictures – all designed to make this moment even more remarkable.
The ceremony was led by a celebrant, and included a symbolic exchange of rings, morning suits, and, of course, a celebration with a taste of Méqui for the couples. Before the special ceremony, the famous Brazilian couple Camila Queiroz and Klebber Toledo, was in charge of announcing the winners of the contest on social media – check the announcement here and find more about the six love stories.
After the emotional celebration, the lovebirds shared the reason why they call McDonald’s ‘Méqui’. Here are some of the testimonials: “It’s part of our story”, added Bruno Droppa and Izabel Nancy, with a smile on their faces. Letícia Queiroz and Ícaro Branco didn’t stay behind, with their fond memories: “We met at Méqui; our first kiss was at Méqui.” For Priscila Plauto and Eduardo Castro, Méqui is more than just a place: “It’s our second home.” And for Maria Eduarda and Roberta Lessa, it’s a total passion: “It can’t get any better than this!”.
The initiative is part of the new campaign “That’s why I call McDonald’s Méqui”, developed by the agency GALERIA.ag, and celebrates the affectional bonds between clients and brand. Sérgio Eleutério, McDonald’s marketing director, says the inspiration came from consumers’ love stories: “Our clients are passionate about the brand, and have so many beautiful stories related to Méqui that we felt the need to return all this love by holding this great celebration. Long live love! Long live Méquilovers!”.
The action also had the presence of content creators, such as the duo @vaicomguio, which recorded all ceremonies and details of the weddings at Méqui 1000, from store decoration, the bride’s entrance and exchange of rings, as well as a review of the whole experience. To reverberate the great day on social media, the event was supported by the pages Gossip do Dia and Segue a Cami.
