FirstBank, the second largest privately held bank in the nation, takes their commitment to banking seriously, yet with enough humility to enjoy spinning that dedication into a self-deprecating new campaign titled Really Good At Banking.
The work is from15-year ad agency partner TDA Boulder and has fun with the idea that FirstBank is so dedicated to excelling as your bank, they tend to fall short in all skills outside of banking. Creative work includes broadcast, digital, social, print, OOH, and in-store.
At the centerpiece of the campaign is broadcast spot Lifeguard, a light-hearted Baywatch riff, complete with a 90’s-inspired theme song synced to a FirstBank banker / Lifeguard running into action. Sadly, on the beach our banker’s heroics are a bit limited, unlike their approachable and knowledgeable customer service.
The spot is scheduled to air regionally in the Super Bowl.
Other spots feature a less-than-perfect window washer spinning on the job and a less-than-skilled surgeon making a timely exit from an emergency room challenge, plus valiant attempts at soccer and dancing.
