A test drive is a sure-fire way to guarantee that a client will buy a car. To invite people to test drive a Volvo, Doping introduced the 'Family Test Drive' promotional video, emphasizing the brand's family-friendly appeal.
To communicate this, the agency found an insight that all parents can relate to: the annoyance of a catchy children's song. If you're a parent, chances are you'd lose it if you hear ‘Baby Shark’ one more time. Nowhere is safe from that earworm, not even in the safest car in the world.
For the video, the creators imagined a scenario where the whole test-driving family annoyingly sings 'Baby Shark' while the patient Volvo sales representative endures it all to help them make a decision. The family takes advantage of free test drives, extending the decision-making process.
