Description

As the number of women killed in Ireland continues to rise, one thing is clear:
violence against women cannot end without men's help.

Allianz and Women's Aid wanted to help enable men to become allies in the fight against gender-based violence.

So, as the nation's men entered flower shops to buy flowers for their partners,
we took the opportunity to remind them of the women who were killed by theirs.

The Dead Flower Shop looked like a normal flower shop but, once people entered, they saw an exhibition of dead flowers. Each bouquet was expertly designed and arranged to represent and memorialise an individual woman who had died at the hands of her partner.
A large bouquet of roses was at the centre of the exhibition, a single dead flower representing each of the 274 women killed in Ireland.

We then asked men to become allies and gave them a resource to do just that:
The Ally Action List. A list of positive actions they can take at womensaid.ie/men
