Datafy.io turned a low-visibility booth at KubeCon Europe (London) into a retro arcade crowd magnet. On a limited budget and tucked away from heavy foot traffic, the cloud storage company launched Cloud Storage Space Invaders – a playful throwback game that drew crowds despite the odds. The concept tapped into nostalgia: attendees played a Space Invaders-inspired arcade game where unicorns (Datafy.io’s whimsical heroes) defended cloud storage from swarms of invading currency symbols. The cheeky tagline “We’re not magic, we’re magical” set the tone for a campaign that was both enchanting and technically clever.
The on-site activation kept the energy high. Conceived with help from AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude, and coded with no coding experience on Claud 3.7.
The results were magical indeed. Hundreds of qualified leads were scanned as visitors lined up to join the fun – a massive win for a booth in a low-traffic location. Engagement soared, turning a quiet corner of KubeCon into one of the event’s must-visit attractions.
