The Bicycle Factory is a promotion for Cadbury where they are getting consumers to help them send 5000 Bicycles to Africa. In Africa a bicycle is much more than just a bicycle, it's access to schools, it's an ambulance, it's a way to move greater distances at faster speeds than on foot, and to carry more as well. Every time you enter a cadbury UPC online, it gets turned into a bicycle part. This isn't Gerry Graf, it's Richard Flintham at Fallon London. Graf keeps getting credit for his work but all Cadbury creative is out of Fallon London. Saatchi just takes .uk and miraculously turns it into .com. Next time you want to dole out credit, get the story straight.

Flintham waved farewell to his creative compatriot Juan Cabral this year, with whom he’s produced some great campaigns. The softly spoken creative, whose messy desk is a testament to his unprocessed yet intelligent thinking, continues to ensure the agency’s output is top notch.

Hey, I've got an idea...Let's send crappy bikes to Africa and give them away to people! That's a really smart and educated way to not only destroy the dignity of people, but also let fat Westerners continue to eat the chocolate guilt-free! BOYCOTT THIS CAMPAIGN. It's initiatives like this that are killing the livelihood of the African people.

I find the "factory" well done and the concept EXCELLENT (even if the site is making me mental when I have problems entering UPC's!)> I know that Westerners can come up with rather self-gratifying ideas to help other countries (although ANYTHING IS BETTER than joining the actions of warmongering forces!).....however, if getting overfed Westerners to shove another chocolate bar down their throats yields benefits to other nations AND if this is likely the ONLY way that the overfed and overindulged will participate actively, then why get critical? Need to look at the outcome as well as the means and balance it out! I don't think the people of Ghana or any other selected country would domplain!

This was a massive failure for Cadbury. The agency responsible has recently been outed in Canada for paying people money for hits to make their target number set by the client and the site look more successful that it really was.
I've heard the same thing that this agency has been named in the cash for hits scandal after it was caught buying hits in Asia to make it's online look more successful then it really is.
