ugh its disgusting and stigmatizing. This is not the message we should spread in this day and age. Sex is not the problem, its unprotected sex that is the problem... this ad just makes it look like sex kills. Are we in 1989 or 2009?

"aids is a mass murderer?" what kind of a weak tagline is that? you prosecute mass murderers and you're done with them. there is no such chance with a disease. this comparison is off just like stating aids was a lightbuld or a chainlink fence would be.

The difference is taste and personal judgement. You will have to rely heavily on both in your career. Unless you're being sarcastic. Hard to tell in print.
Though if I was highlighting the specific difference between this ad and the not-WWF ad, I'd point out that this in no way trivialises or downplays Hitler's crimes. It doesn't say 'You thought Hitler was bad, well this is worse!" It says, 'AIDS is bad, like Hitler.' As such it is less likely to offend. IMO of course.
Though I personally do not like either ad. While both use powerful images, I feel both are pointless. 'AIDS is bad, man' is not news, no matter how it is dressed up.

Interesting lateral approach, but I think the insight it trite. In fact, it is stretching things to call it an insight. AIDS kills a lot of people? It is bad? If someone doesn't know that by now...
Well I like the copy... best way of making someone understand something is to compare it with something they already know.

The concept in itself is good, it definately makes you look at Aids in a different way. However, I think the add would have been more effective if it didn't look do damn hot. If anything it'll make people wanna go have sex rather than think about the ramifications of sleeping with someone with Aids.

Yes, where is Sharon and Ehud Olmert (Israeli Prime ministers), where is Robert Kajuga and Georges Rutaganda (Rwandan leaders)... The ads need to be more contemporary. They need to fit the reality and the facts of today—if AIDS is a contemporary issue.

lachte immer über anstößigen Humor, aber manches geht zu weit,
sehr vier zu weit. Hier werden Menschen, die an einer mehr
als schlimmen Krankheit leiden, mit Hitler verglichen. Also wenn
ich AIDS hätte, wäre ich doch sehr betroffen. Nun mag es sein, dass
dieses Video als Abschreckung gedacht war, doch wer wird, wenn er das
Video sieht, davon bewegt sein, über das Thema nachdenken? Als ich es
sah, war ich jedenfalls nur schockiert.
