Would be funny if it was Ursain Bolt

apseudobeing's picture 495 pencils

you're kidding right?

firstly, why would bolt be riding a horse?

secondly, what's a funnier image: a little jockey out running horses, or a huge sprinter?

im not going to say anything nasty, but no, it wouldnt be funny with ursain bolt. it's funny as is.

www.jackmancer.com's picture 731 pencils

no but i was just thinking it's a little bit unrealistic

Advertising doesn't need to be realistic, by the way horse don't talk either

Jackmancer - I've just been to your website.

You need to actually do some ads and get a depth of knowledge before being qualified enough to comment.

And Usain is not spelt with an r in it.

very nice directed and edited - thumbs up

one should not take life so seriously - as one will not come out of it alive.

Nice example of telling stories to connect brands with audiences.

Saw this on TV the other night and it made me chuckle. Is the horse's voice Micheal Gambon?

it's that old british way of coming up with a really fun and unexpected execution and then slapping a flat and dull line onto it at the end. it gets the job done but damnit, I wished they had worked a bit harder on that last piece. everything else here is fun.

sweet mother of what is shiney and smells like lemons!

the whole movie is awsome but the line at the end ... comon!

on the other hand it's so mean that it doubles the awsome of the ad.

Loose the absurdness. Take a real horse and a real sprinter and you get a convincing great film... Idea is nice btw!

Great. It's simply great. *****

The only funny bit is the horse talking. Why? Because it's not expected.

Funny.

The line at the end is what makes the ad genius; without it there'd be no point. The whole idea of weetabix is that it's told to every child in Britain from a very young age that you'll become a superheroe-type person if you eat "50 weetabix a day". The final line takes years of pinpoint advertising on this, and uses it greatly as a punchline. Shame on the people above who said the last line let it down; you ignorant twats!!

Guest's picture

Just because there is a reason behind the line at the end, doesn't change the fact that it sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm not british, and I've never seen a weetabix ad before, but I understood the point of the punchline. And it almost ruined the giddy feeling I had after seing the film.

Still, it's amusing to see you call them twats for pointing out a valid letdown.
