seen them on tv. really don't like them.

At least it's a real ad then. :) I think it's brave to use an old VW model in a commercial. Needs a client with guts and a persuasive agency.

A client with guts and a persuasive agency and this is all they could come up with. Disappointing.

If you put it this way. ;)
These ads are still my favs when it comes to German engineering:

I tottally agreed with Ivan. That´s real and good. and about used the old vw. genius!!!!

So cute. this one ^^. I love when it get shy.

i had thought crispin had lost the account and this is some junk another agency had done.

You ding bats need to pull your heads out.

This sh*t is funny, has character, well written, nicely directed and to the point in a slightly different way.

Scores better than allot of other pap around that gets you all wet in the pants.

Get some anti-pretentious pills in you and have another look eh guys.

Peace out.

"Make a name, or be defamed"

Funny?! Well written?

It sounds like the client pushed the copywriter aside and took over the keyboard, with the brief between his teeth:

Heidi: "Well, look at you:... sleek German exterior... ABS...traction control...German engineering is so sexy".

The line is so forced and unrealistic.
And the "hey-lets-make-a-corny-talkshow-but-lets-still-keep-it-minimalistic-cool" is just tragic.

It is probably the worst CPB work in many years. Absolutely horrible stuff.

Dude?

This might be the cheesiest of the three, but the scripts are quick with well timed humor. You can't really be saying that there's a client out there with a sense of humor writing scripts? Such a thing does not exist my man.

"Make a name, or be defamed"

Well I don't understand where all this negativity above is coming from but I thought these were absolutely great. It's a simple idea pushed to such another level in execution, absolutely remarkable.

I agree with Disco Munky! I love these! They are funny, to the point and done in a very very cool way. I dunno, maybe you actualy have to be european to like them?

Arnold did really great work for Volkswagen, and as much of an industry darling as Crispin is, none of their work for VW so far measures up. Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been terrible. But spots like Bubble Boy and Squares were classics. Obviously this is a client that has shown they get it and will approve great work so Crispin has no excuse. These are just mildly entertaining at best.
