Indeed.

Brainsugar's picture 991 pencils

I hate. This is bull shit. They had the money of cocacola, but fred & farid only made Orangina.
As you say, waste of money. But no waste of brain.

Nthngmn's picture 632 pencils

horrible. one the worst ideas/throw-away of dollars i've ever seen.

juliangray's picture 1023 pencils

why do you say is a terrible idea? imean its weird? yes it is. is new? also. youre all saying "nop" "terrible" but with no bases whatsoever.

I think that this ad generates something in the viewer but im not able to pin down what is (altough i felt it like something positive and rather charming).

its a innovate posicioning for a drink of these caracteristics.

edit: looking at the site i see that the english translation of the claim is inaccurate. the concept in french has a double reading as naturally "pulpose" and naturally "juggy".

Ad Junkie At Large's picture 562 pencils

I'll tell you exactly why, sexually expressive animals have nothing to do with juice. It does not offer a unique selling point and the only reason i'd remember the product is that it has a recognizable bottle that was shown a couple of times during the commercial. So if that's the only thing that makes the commercial worth while in terms of increasing brand recognition then they'd do just as well to forgo the theatrics and simply have a picture of the package design.

juliangray's picture 1023 pencils

Thats the problem of the tranlation, the original line in french uses a reference to the pulp of the fruit (as in the juice you find real pulp) and the therm "pulpeuse" (in english could be something like pulpy? or pulpose?) has a double meaning; as in the pulp of the fruit and in exuberant women. So, the sexually expressive animals, do have something to do with the juice, but is related to language.

Also i dont agree this doesnt offer a unique selling point, i think is a fresh place for a juice to take. Clearly targeting adults and having such a strong message. I admit, that this will fail miserably in sales or the exact opossite. And the "wtf? this is disgusting" factor is present, but i dont know how (especially french audience) will take this.

Do you really think that this only acomplishes the same that placing a product in screen?

p.syche's picture 195 pencils

Well, there's just one problem here: the ad was made in Paris, and it is being judged by AMERICANS.
generally guys, i love you with all my heart. but you have to admit, in comparison to french, you are absolute PRUDES!
now don't think i don't know what i'm talking about. half of my family is french, i've spend a lot of time in different cities in the wine country and i love the french movies.
and let me tell you the biggest difference between the french and the rest of the world: they do not believe in taboo as far as sex is concerned. sex is a normal topic, discussed pretty much everywhere and without any shame (why should they be ashamed??? sexuality is a BEAUTIFUL thing!).

so, taking that into consideration, and given that the ad is strongly exciting (you won't tell me that watching this ad didn't give you a tiny feeling between your legs! come on!), i think it will be a HUGE HIT in France!
their message is: "hey look, our juice is sexy!"
and the response will be: "donne-moi ca! j'adore tout ce qui est sexy!"*
or in the worst case the french will just find it funny and cute.

*translation: gimme some of that! i love everything that's sexy!

Congratulaciones.

you guys say its weird and sick, but for the most part you give no reason. its different for sure, but that's good, people don't want the same thing over and over, it gets old fast.

i saw some one say its bestiality. bestiality is an animal and a human having sex, these arn't even technically animals, they are bipedal with human physical appearances, and for those who say this has nothing to do with the product, think again. its showing "natural juice", and what is more natural than sexuality? its in every sexuality reproducing living beings nature, its not dirty, its not sick, its natural. this ad is showing the "wild side" that humans have covered up, that's all. these animals are the side of humans that society has tried to put to rest, and they're bringing it back, i say congratulations.
