wow, this was quick. I remember seeing this footage 2 weeks ago. now it's already an ad (fake?).
although relevant and nicely done I think it's too soon. let people forget about this catastrophe first and than start making an ad out of it. if I was one of the people who lost a home in this disaster I'd be pretty offended with this: call for having fun while I lost my house.
Right. But i like it. I feel the immediacy of it is what works here in a way. Jeep - safe. For people who haven't seen the footage without Jeep, this works fine.
but here is not about safety... it's about fun (says so in the headline). that's what bothering me.
if it'd be safety I'd like it.
Nice ad. It seems that it's a trend to make ad like sth real. Like the Levis' one:

Anyway, as it's funny, I reblogged it at my gag collection: http://ccc.9gag.com
"It seems that it's a trend to make ad like sth real."
well, this is A REAL FOOTAGE from recent floods in New Zealand (not faked as real). it's totally real that the first car escaped from the falling tree. they just added a Jeep at the end. and that's why this is not funny.
nice one, i like it :)

You know
um...if this was not so controversial, this is a nice ad.
does the SFX of people cheering bother anyone? othw i think it's great.
if the sound effects are real (and i never saw the original footage) then they're fine. but if they're put in for the ad, then it cheapens the result. anyone saying "wow, that was awesome" feels a little fake and redundant. i don't think people would say anything if they were actually there. they'd be stunned. but you guys know better than me since i've never seen this footage before until now.
there you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtCzlZogjZQ
They all sound potted.
what does that mean? The footage and audio was real, nothing added but the Jeep.
