I guess I'm wondering if the ad works (it certainly entertains).

this was awesome. and i say props on the swearing because thats how people talk, especially de niro. and a guy accusing a donkey of trying to fuck his wife is a good unexpected touch especially around the 45second mark, but the music should have cut out during that part, then kicked back in as the "a little de niro" text came up.

Minus the F words, I really like this ad. It's fun - I've sent it to half a million friends.

I'd been a little bit more agressive wit the final copy...

"The perfect man doesn't exist,
his magazine does..."

See you on the road...

Yes, my profile picture is my dog on my sister's bed, with a pillow and a blanket...

I think this ad is clever and exceptionally well done. However, it alienates me, because I Iift weights and run, and the ad seems to mock athletics (not severely or anything). However, I may not be GQ's target audience. I'm forty. I'm more likely to read Esquire, because it features more actors my age, and, in general, it seems geared toward my age. GQ seems like it's trying to collet more twentysomething readers. Again, great ad, but designed to exclude anybody who isn't in the mood for quirk or Simpsons-esque humor. My point is this: Would it appeal to a younger De Niro type? I don't think so, even though he's (fondly) referenced in it.
