What you have to remember here is that Lord of the Rings was inspired by an actual Viking tradition/strategy of lighting fires on moutain tops both as a warning and as a celebration of the summer solstice. So what you have here is a Norwegian company banking on culture, history, and tradition to create a somewhat humorous commercial for their product. It works well if you look at it from that cultural perspective.
