hahahahahaha! That was awesome.
Of the two, i prefer this by far - it's much more intriguing, it's got a weirder mood & it's far more likely that the "bad thing" is going to have repercussions... The other one isn't quite as engaging and you get the feeling that he gets away with it so there's a weaker "God, I mustn't get bored" takeout. This is far more entertaining too.
