D&AD 2014 Professional Awards: I wish I'd done that, White Pencil

The films were developed by Wieden+Kennedy London to support the call for entries for the D&AD 2014 Professional Awards. Factory Fifteen’s captivating animations frame the series, providing a glimpse within the rich history of D&AD and the Yellow Pencil. Closer inspection reveals some of the most awarded work in recent years, including Heatherwick Studio’s Olympic Cauldron, McCann Erickson’s Dumb Ways to Die and Channel 4’s Meet the Superhumans.

I don't know why of all the campaigns through history, she chooses to talk about this one.
1. I've seen the "They gave us $x to make a commercial, but instead we decided to do ____ with the money instead" a few times.
2. Walter Mitty isn't about charity or helping others, so there is a big disconnect from me.
3. Why does the creative need so much camera time? It makes this a film about how great he is, when that selfish movie company just wanted him to make a commercial. Would have seemed less like a vanity project to have him behind the camera and just use supers.
