After the debacle over free speech in Denmark, and the recent renewed media attacks on the Muslim’s beloved Prophet Muhammed, Muslims the world over responded in negative and violent ways. Almahabba Awards was launched to celebrate Muslim's love for their prophet and, most importantly, to channel their passion into art, music, poetry, film and calligraphy. This was Almahabba Awards’ second year and was patronized by the rulers of UAE.
This commercial brought to life a true story about Khaled Ibn Alwalid, the famous Muslim warrior, and how he became the symbol of love during the famous Battle of Yarmouk when he lost his helmet. This helmet contained a few strands of the Prophet’s, and he turned his back on the battle to rescue those hairs—thus illustrating love in the midst of war. Directed by 2008 Oscar-winning director Stefan Ruzowisky.
A beautiful TVC, wrapped around beautiful cinematography….... a gory glorious battle that ends with a poetic and peaceful realization of truth.
Beauty!
Keep up the great work ... Love it
Does anybody know the music used?
The music is composed by Mikael Sandgren from LA.
Why are they fighting Romans? They fought Byzantines at the Battle of Yarmouk - and they had totally different uniforms... it's all in the detail...
That's true. The most obvious difference is that Romans had rectangular shields (as it is incorrectly in the ad) and Byzantine army had oval shape shield. The Byzantine army was the first to have logos on their armor to identify them.
For the arabs, the byzantines WERE the romans, they call them "room", which also designates orthodox (since the byzantines were orthodox). This is because byzantum called itself the eastern roman empire. with little to no historic knowledge outside of their own (if that), and a complete absence of objectivity, the arabs aren't exactly known to make accurate honest depictions of historic events.
Other than that, i wonder what the message is...that a few strands of hair are more important than the lives of men? and how exactly do they intend to inspire love and encourage art instead of violence by showing a glorified scene of war and conquest?
that is true, in the Islam religion, ''the human life is much more important and holy than the KAABA it self'' said Prophet Mohamed (SAAWS)..
i think the TVC here is showing a true story about love, happened in the battle filed regardless that was right or wrong !
