without "one breath. one minute. one commerical" note here at the top it makes no sense at all.

Nicely done! That gasp at the end nailed the spot, evoking a primal and universal experience, i.e. surfacing after having been underwater long enough to nearly deplete the supply of oxygen in the lungs.
