it´s braking through the sonic barrier. its a first thought i saw often presented by juniors and always rejected by the cds. finally one junior must have found a cd who let it through. 2/10

The bike is so fast that it goes beyond the sound barrier. When a plane does this, you can see a cloud forming around it.

Art direction is great, the line on the bottom right is not. Would have been a great ad if it had an insightful or clever line of copy.

The strategy is sound though - the R1 is the top of the range and anyone who is on a smaller bike always sees themselves as being limited by its performance (even if they are not that good a rider) so they aspire to own the top of the range, the bike without barriers as it were.
The blame here lies with the client who didn't approve the cost for a decent photoshoot - with a rider (note there is no licence plate either so it's more than likely a stock shot from Yamaha).
