Yahoo: Mermaid

Only search within 100 degree, why not use Yahoo! 360 degree search engine!
100 degree has a double meaning, one is the angle of a search area and one is a metaphor to Baidu, Yahoo’s no.1 search engine competitor in China. In Chinese, Baidu means 100 degree.

Print ad for an internet search engine. Hmmm...

The guy doesn't see the mermaids because his range of sight is only 100 degrees. Ok, I'm getting that. But the playfulness of the image doesn't quite bite. Google has much more playful images in their homepage logos, and they are images that reflect the Google brand attitude/character/look.

But the wordplay is very good. Baidu should consider a change of name ;)

however, why not directly use 百度?
100 degree is a little bit twisted, possibly.
