In a very modest way of course. :-)

meine fresse, das ist doch nicht euer ernst?!

William Bernbach IV's picture

I suppose it's somewhat provocative. But what the hell is it trying to say? Don't consume anything? Weird message. But that's not the creatives' fault.

Guest commenter's picture

In dutch, the copy says 'overconsuming the earth,....' ;-)

Pedestrian's picture 262 pencils

That's strange. Because while you can overconsume the Earth, I suppose, you can't overconsume a child. Since you should be consuming children in the first place.

Guest commenter's picture

This kid will suffer serious street credibility in the near future...

There are big pictures and then there are stupid pictures. Some stuff which hasnt been done before, hasnt been done before for a good reason.

This ad speaks to me and says, "As global warming continues to make the planet more unstable, we will outstrip our supply of cattle, pigs, chickens and pandas for human consumption and will turn to our own offspring to satisfy our craving for lightly roasted meat with a hint of citrus glaze."

On the other hand, it also makes me think I should feed my children more genetically modified hormone injected grain to make sure they have enough meat on their bones when I have them for dinner.

Maga LOL coolcatdaddy!

sneakyhands's picture 1849 pencils

it's probably better in its original language, but 'for a living planet' is a little boring as a tag. overall though, i like this. not the biggest idea, but definitely memorable.

Dick Weed's picture

Anybody who says they like this should stop eating anything on this earth immediately. It's such a lame sentiment. It's for the intellectually lazy.

devil in a suit's picture

i think if they were to change the text then it would make sense.
i like the visual.i think it would make an awsome PETA champaign

Guest commenter's picture

concerned about the future? plant more grain, drill for more oil. The ad would be blasted if the kid was replaced with something expendable like a dog or a pig.

Utter crap. If the people at the WWF knew half of the shit that was produced in their name they'd have a heart attack. I am going out to buy a large-engined gas guzzling vehicle, a bag of coal and sixteen big macs right now. It's the only sensible response to work of such utter stupidity.

JxCxZOMBIE's picture 142 pencils

"If the people at the WWF knew"
If they knew, i think they support it, I mean, when you fight for a cause you expect people to do their part by their will...

Go ahead, "buy a large-engined gas guzzling vehicle, a bag of coal and sixteen big macs right now", but don't expect the earth to get worse with that. Many peaple comit suicide this days, but the're just 'colateral damage' and some apears on the News, but that's all, nobody cares!!

We can do our part doing real or FAKE protests ADs, what matters is the message.

Hell yeah!!

JxCxZOMBIE's picture 142 pencils

I bet people at the WWF celebrates this kind of attitude!

Hell yeah!!

Guest's picture

it is hard hitting, original and answers the brief yep cool

Here's a dead baby. Where's my award?

A stranger abroad's picture 437 pencils

LOL. But heck, the baby's not even dead. No award for you!

btw, I get the reference to the wonderful Fishlock and Brown ad for AWARD some years ago. I even remember the first line of the copy, because that was 'almost' as good as the headline..."This year AWARD will be giving a lot less to charity." But in those days of course, even those guys toned down 'baby' to 'dog'.

hate this

Hey WWF, you DO need a new PR team, RIGHT NOW!
