So the boobies become so big that it can hold on to a pencil?
Seriously if I ain't working in advertising/never seen someone done that before/not perverted in nature,
it will take me forever to get the idea.
Nice idea, but too smart for silly boy like me.
I dont get it...
Apparently you two haven't had the pleasure of knowing a woman that could do this... I think the ad is clever, but I agree that it is too clever.

Sad to say, I don't know any wonder women can achieve that with my humble pencil : )
Have you guys ever heard of the pencil test?
I havent...
Is the spread supposed to resemble a pair of breasts with the pencil being held in the cleavage? Because if so, then the "pencil test" theory is totally wrong. The test is supposed to be done UNDER the breasts, not between. And if it's done under and the woman is wearing a Wonderbra, the pencil should be on the floor, as there would be no sagging and it would fall.
And in that case, that ad has already been done. And it was done for Wonderbra. If I can find it, I'll post a link.
Boobieliscious! And yes, the ad makes perfect sense.
"Pastes like shit."
y dont i get this?
Boys, don't disappoint me. :)
i have to admit i never heard of the pencil test. thanks for the link ivan!
and i will definitely look for this film, 'breast men' (for general knowledge reasons)
btw, according to the comments it doesn't seem to be common knowledge, maybe it is in sweden but i think even less women know what the pencil test is, right?
well, somehow, wonderbra ads never seemed to be directed to women…
the ones with the good looking guys admiring the first-person-POV-woman was a hundred % directed to women.
i think they were much better than all these "big hands" etc ads.
to say it makes women more admirable is a much stronger selling prop than to say it makes them just the perfect sex object
they are, they are supposed to show women what they can do to men if they wear one.

well, it takes some time to understand...maybe too clever. I think I'll try it on my girlfriend :)
...but I really don't think it's a common knowledge. But who knows what they have there in Sweden...I'd like to go there someday...
What they have in Sweden? A lot of amazing nasty blonde girls with tiny little thongs (see http://victoriasilvstedt.com). They also have a lot of tuna fish if you prefer. :)
Thanx man. Though I prefer brunettes, this girl is really beautiful.
Hey guys! Stop talking about ads and have a look :)

Hope somebody is registering all these names! ;)
can we replace a pencil by anything?
yes, with yours : )
Almost exactly the same ad was done in South Africa about 3 years ago. By TBWA Hunt Lascaris I think.
Man, no one heard of the pencil test.
I think it was Jupiter Drawing Room South Africa that did the Pencil Test Ad.
No, it was done at Hunt Lascaris and won international awards. Art director Erich Funke, CD Tony Granger. Writer, I forget. Leon Jacobs?
Boony, you're right and yet wrong. Read Wikipedia:
"An informal test for determining if a woman needs to wear a bra. A pencil is placed in the fold beneath the breast and chest. If the pencil does not fall, the woman has "failed the pencil test" and needs to wear a bra. Diane Brill provides her own version of the pencil test; she instructs women to wear their best corset or sexiest bra, then stick a pencil vertically into the cleavage. If it doesn't fall, the cleavage is perfect."
So, the cleavage gets perfect wit Wonderbra.
"Pastes like shit."
I can't believe noone knows the pencil test? Where do you all live?
Much cleverer than the big hands ad.
Made me laugh.
I get it now, and i did know about the pencil test but
knew it was ment for underneth the breast. This ad rocks now that i get it.
Why the vertical pencil? Because the pencil test that I've heard of is this: If, when placed under the breast against the abdomen, a pencil does not fall to the ground, then breasts are saggy and need to be perked up either by surgery or by wearing a bra.
There is a wonderbra ad which shows a pencil fallen on the floor. It's in one of the books...one show maybe.
i think the vertical pencil is not an exageration of the breast pushing up test, but a sexy proof for verifing the breast touch: if they are big and hard, and you put a thing beetween them, it will be catch.
moreover, the allusion breast/pages' curve, it's not so simple, and it remand to an old and famous ad (of wonderbra).
i think it's a good ad, but only for advertiser or advertising fans. and, pheraphs, it's too intelligent for a target that have only a thing in the mind (and it's not a brain...)
bye bye to all and sorry for my english
the vertical pencil is used to show how much cleavage the Wonderbra creates.
thus the pencil stays in place.... right?
Vertical pencil, because if it doesn't fall then you've got nice full WonderBra sort of pushed up cleavage.
I think if you know the test, it is a perfect ad - in the other case it is meaningless. So if you have any data about the target group regarding this it can tell us wether it's a brilliant ad :-)
Looks fake, if you look closely you could see that the ad has been pasted in the magzine seperately and you can see the non symetry there. The idea is quite bad.

To me it works fine, its just a boring execution.
www.aaasmith.blogspot.com
But anyway, the REAL reason people (read men) don't get the message is the lack of BOOBS in the ad... :P
Like said, clever ad IF you know the test.
"Pastes like shit."
Hans did the test! :) Cool ad.
Greetz to Sweden!
wtf, what test? trying too hard.
Hans is the man! :p
"Pastes like shit."
haha, true
If you say so.
...sigh
O yes,
i get it.........
ACTUALLY, i DONT!
Hey guys. The ad is directed towards women, whom all heard of "the pencil test". And they are the ones buying the product, right?
f_ing brilliant
rd
i dont get it
Pencil test???
http://www.spotanatomy.info/index.php?title=saatchi_pencil_test_wonder...
Erm.. ain't the pencil test to stick a pencil UNDER the boobies and if it doesn't fall it's bad (because it means, they are hanging)? on the other hand, what do i know..
