They really picked the cheapest way to execute it and that´s exactly what it looks like.
Yes I agree, it has been done before, but in this case doing black lines with a thin stroke (0.5 maybe?) is a lazy and poor way of executing the idea.
I've never seen this idea before, so if it is a copy then excuse me... I love it. Agree that the execution is lazy, but the concept is great.
