Smart insight, targeting those borderline autistic monomaniacs, preferably in those vertical monomaniac magazines.
Why not push it into digital territory where it belongs? Oh, and please stop using Indesign to fill up your text block.
That very Wi
kipedia
linebreak makes me think this is fake.
Unless it's a collaborative effort?
Could this be the world's first official campaign by committee?
I think we should be
spared.
Imo, this gives a false idea about Wikipedia. It's about sharing information, not music.

You are right - for example this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music is completely dead.
Too, too funny. Ivan, where's that upvote button?
We will do it!
Y E S!!!!!
Fantastic news Ivan, really really happy to hear this. The community owes you a big cake. Or some bigger thanks. Nice one!
Tell you what.
If you make people 'spend pencils' it'll have, and add, a lot more meaning.
I will give you a pencil for that idea!
And I'll take it, save it and give you one back at a later date, thus achieving pencil-parity, enabling a true anti-gravity AOTW singularity floatathon, or an ouroboros of egos, which is essentially the same thing, given who we are.
BACK OFF! NONE OF YOU BASTARDS WILL EVER GET YOUR HANDS ON MY PENCILS! THEY'RE MINE, ALL MINE!!! MUHAHAHAHAAA
P.S. definitely a fake ad.
Actually I'm thinking one should gain pencils for every up vote.
i vote for me :)
You'll devalue the currency if you do that: people will just sit upvoting to see their stock rise. Soon everyone will be pencil millionairres (on paper) and you'll have to invent pens, leading inevitably to civil war, brother against brother, in the fight for writing implements. Ugly, nasty times ahead Ivan, I hope you've seen Terminator, because the onslaught is going to have an Austrian accent, my friend, with optional toothbrush moustache.
So make it cost (like Fame, but without the sweat) instead: people will feel like they're giving their very lifeblood to compliment others, which is always a sweet psychology. But y'know, it's your site...
Agreed with you Jaap. Sharing music is different from sharing music knowledge, which is probably what Wikipedia is after with this creative.
Whilst many university graduates struggle to find jobs, it's fascinating to see that many man and van operators are currently earning up to £5,000 per month.
I absolutely love the whole campaign. I think it strikes the right balance between celebrating and lampooning nerds. After seeing it here, I wrote it up on Osocio.

Nice. Well done.
The visual by itself does not tell me that the person is not sharing knowledge.
well ivan can u tell me what this whole pencil business is :O
Sorry for the ad, but me attention was on the conversation between Ivan and curious pencil. Nice ideas both of you!
Let´s make pencils more meaningful
personally, i know a few folks who are ardent collectors/trivia aficionados/over-educated intellectuals/nerds -- i find these campaign portraits quite accurate, hilarious, and clever
ok... i love it
