Oooh, its crazy math! File this right beside "The Number 23" on your mental directory =P. The Brain Candy ads had logic, this is just gratuitous (or just a little lazy).
It's funny and simple. I don't think you make a decision about buying a car from a press ad. The role of such an ad is to attract attention and make you include the model in your shortlist for further consideration.
