That's an asterisk, not a flower symbol. :)
okie okie..HA HA, it does look like flower...T_T

Don't listen to him Jenny. It's a flower. You know how the new beetles come with a flower? It's a big selling point with VWs. That's why there's a flower in the ad.
are you laughing me? T_T................i think i should open my car and check how do all parts inside look like, seriously.

Boy! Did you just say flower symbol? (Rolls eyes). And you call it conceptual weakness without even understanding what you're commenting about! Err; are we a bit confused here about which side the weakness is really on? http://kettleandmug.blogspot.com
i am a girl, sorry for don't know what my weakness is, but seriously, i really not sure how internal parts of a car look like :P. but i thought, i don't know, therefore i ask, if i am somebody who knows everything, what for i am here?

by the way, isn't it people shouldn't ask for what they don't know? keep quiet would be a much better attitude huh?

Instead of using an asterisk device, a simple line would have made the concept much clearer and stronger.
It's a beautiful ad from the art direction point of view. The problem is that a lot of people will not read the body copy. They will only see a car tipping over and the headline. That does create a problem.

FLOWER POWER eh?
seen better work from thailand..
guess trying to be come up with something good is an 'Ongoing' thing for these guys.
I find this ad funny due to the fact that anytime you see anything that could be hazardous to your health you see the warning "Dont try this at home". Someones finally just ponting out the obvious. People beat on their cars VWs just telling you to make sure you have the warranty. Excellent.
