The problem with this campaign is that it works only when a plane is directly between the two lines. Otherwise, the idea may be lost. People would still understand, but it wouldn't make quite an impact.

yeah...it must be a lot of coincidence...
yet different level of coordination comes with different perspective
but maybe there's a plane way wayyyy up in the sky, so high that you can't see it. if these are placed directly under a flight path, then it was really good thinking.
i´m sure they did so...
i dont think any of the above comments are relevant.
you would understand it - plane or no plane.
not even my sarcastic one? c'mon!
What's with the flat copywriting from CP+B? I just had an international CD telling me last night that they were arguably the hottest shop on God's green earth and then I see this. The media idea is nice enough but the jokes are just rubbish. Isn't it obvious from the drool? What possesses you to write something like that promoting an upper class service? No wonder no one has owned up to it.
i like copy in some way... i assume that virgin is well reputed as a medium ore low-cost-airline...and then the copy turns into funny somehow...british humor!
Virgin is akin to British Airways, perhaps better some may argue.
This is a very Virgin campaign. They play on their Britishness, humour and so on. Any Virgin brand works the same way,
whether money, broadband/telephony, etc.
While I'm unsure this would work in the US, it's still a brave (and funny) way to showcase the facilities on Virgin airlines.
Agree.
Target is not taken into account, and the idea is way too forced. 99.999% people won't get it.

The Ad Mad
people arent' that stupid. They'll get it....it's an ad for an AIRLINE....doesn't take a genius to get this.
it´s an ad for an airline that uses planes from other companies to deliver its message. Unless I´m missing something here I don´t think it works.
Great idea.
seriously people, you are overthinking this ENTIRELY. relax. it works, you didn't do it, get over it.

perhaps it was located in a place that plane always passby, just like my campus, because it is near to the airport, every 30 minutes i will see a plane passby.
and perhaps it create rumours and topics to chat until one day people saw it with plane together.
not a bad idea, but the first moment i saw it i scare some plane might crash on the white pillar

Now, some of you are not going to believe this, but...
people have imaginations.
>>>> That's not an ad. THIS is an ad.
but people don imagine every day every time every where...
It can be better!
Give Me a Hell Yeah!!!
Okay. Enlighten us...

PERHAPS THE AIRPLANE IS A MINIATURE.
if this billboard is placed near the heavy aviation traffic like airport, that'll work. otherwise, it looks like god is talking from the sky (when the plane is not seen).
Aviation in miami is definately heavy so I think there isnt much problem :) Loving the idea!
i never said it's a bad idea. the idea is sweet. but needs extra care about where to place it.
God... Richard Branson... same thing.

Precisely.
whatever this is... i like it, just the thought of doing something different works big-time!
~ old habits die hard, older ones never do ~
Ommmmmmmmmmm Good good.
dreamer
In that case...they could have had some executions without a plane though. That would have helped to end the agruments above.
Maybe it's a print ad. lol
i remembered a few years ago someone did a similar campaign with god saying 'you shouldn't drink and drive.'
What do we all think of when we hear/see the word Virgin Atlantic?
Good.
And where do we think these airline billboards would be placed?
Excellent.
So...who do we think could be doing the "talking" in these billboards? (Apart from God and Astronauts)
There you go.
Now stop being so bloody anal and realise the idea is getting people engaged in our ads.
We all love working out puzzles and conundrums, don't we?
That's right.
Let them get involved in it and work it out. The pleasure is working it out. Getting it. Ding!
Amen.
