I think its a kind way to sell this product.
There was another ad better then this, wich is an agressive dog holded by his owner with a very sensitive line.

Daring idea. It doesn't have impact, which is probably the most important (no one would stop to look at this unless they were forced to), but the concept behind it is quite cool.
A name like Skipper or Rover would have made it easier to understand than Bobi though.
