Viktor Rydberg High School’s last year students set up a play/musical every year. This year they contacted our agency and asked if we could help them out with a picture and an idea. Cabaret was the musical – and what needed to be communicated was the influence of the Nazi-regime on the Kit Kat Klub performer Sally Bowles (in the classic movie portrayed by Liza Minnelli). Limitations were the use of provocative symbols, for example a swastika, given that the students relied in part of pro bono advertising space in the subway system of Stockholm. We integrated the students in the production by letting them handle make-up, wardrobe, and supply the model – the lead actress of the musical.
