Correction: Not "some copywriter". It should read. Some Latin-Hispanic copywriter.

The language seems to be Spanish or Portuguese. Also, the name veja seems spanish, enough...

Veja is a brazilian magazine, the ads are intended to be in english so it's just a copywrite error
