FYI, a slightly different version of the same campaign was posted in the Forum Exhibition earlier: http://adsoftheworld.com/forum/exhibition/toys_r_us_toy_city
ok. Previous version is better. Not having such saturation of photo. Beside the idea, which is quite ok, it is done (art directed) without THAT something.

oh, there's really a problem there, what's deal??

Critics are easy.
What problem dadada?
I always wanted to use the tilt shift effect but it was allready done by chevrolet. Same idea as this :

I repeat, a pixelated logo is unforgivable. besides, what's the deal with this effect. 0/10
FER.
OK, i like the concept and the line 'Everything's toys', just don't like the use they made of it. They could have found a much better visual environment, along with the text. This campaign doesn't have much impact, in my opinion.
By the way, when I first and quickly looked at this one, it seemed like Pikachu was the figure on top of the tower. Would have been much funnier. And with this visual, it would obey more to the pun. Pika-Pika-Pikaaaaacccchhuuu!
i agree with u on that, the tilt shift effect looks awesome i cant believe its a real shot, but yeah the visual could have been better. ie, train tracks. race cars etc..
i'm not really getting this one. what's the idea? how does it relate to the art direction?
if this were a little better, it'd be bad.
I think you have a cool idea, but the art direction seems rookie to me.

Where's purple-spelling-nazi when we need him?
'Everything's Toys'? as in, everything is toys?
Does anybody else have a problem with this?
Crap idea anyway.
@hang-the-dj: curious to see some of yours!
Some of my ideas?
Well, maybe one day one of my clients will momentarily forget how boring they like their ads to be and approve something nice and I can share it with you all.
I look forward to the extreme criticism and hatred already. Oh and of course the obligatory 'seen it' and 'done before' comments.
I have lots of scam ads, but I'm not quite ready to be totally crucified by you people. (Plus I don't want them stolen)
*Ooh, I just noticed something, you are the CD and AD on this, that's why you're all defensive. Okay, let me just apologise for the 'crap idea' comment. I don't like it when other people write that, so I shouldn't have. Sorry. Maybe I should have said I don't think the link between making these kind of scenes 'toy-like' and the line is strong enough. Grammatically the line doesn't make sense to me, I would read it 'Everything is a toy', but that could be a language thing. When I eventually get some work up here, feel free to shred it.
in which state are u working?
Confusion and anger mostly.
The West. Where every first homebuyer now needs half a million dollars.
You?
haha yeah true, we have the new gold rush to blame for that.
Same. the two best states to be in, WA and pissed.
don´t worry about it!
critisism is part of the game, isn´t it? :)
°f
Certainly does seem to be around here!
Thanks for your tolerance.
good idea =)
* it's not how good you are. it's how good you want it to be *
Well... ahem... even you guys don´t agree with me: I think it´s pretty cool stuff!
Nice 1.
