These are whack. What the hell do mean "nice copy"?

It's stupid and crap and strage considering it's aimed at mothers everywhere.

My mum didn't sind to me with her tit out. Where the hell did you guys grow up? The 'Outback' with all the other chinless wonders?

Apparantly your mother also forgot to teach you how to spell correctly (and to be polite, bet hey! Thats what the internet is for. Nothing better than to act like a complete asshole when your anonimous)

Well to be honest. I'm from Holland and the guy in the bushes from the UK (so says his profile) So its more forgiving that I misspell 1 letter in a word and a person from England 2 sentences.

For JB and Guy in the Bushes:

Janet Jackson had an "accident" during a performance at a show, and her breast popped out of her shirt. Guest what mothers do when breast feeding? So breast feeding + a nice lullaby, that's what many mothers give to their child. Apparently, you didn't have the chance to enjoy that, Guy in the Bushes. Too bad. Maybe this is why you are still a bit angry today. ;)

Disco Munky's picture

WOW, you just had to go and let your butt do the typing didn't you?

I get the whole "Wardrobe accident" aspect of the ad.

That add isn't clever. 'Mums breast feed' thanks. I didn't know that. I must live under the same rock you do.

Maybe you should stop breast-feeding and grow a brain. A weak ad doesn't get better by trying to insult the critic does it?

Go back to colouring in and try not to wet yourself

What they mean by "Sometimes she sang just like Janet Jackson- with a breast sticking out" Is that she sang to you while nursing. Which is a quite common thing that mothers do.

The reply is for Guy in the Bushes

Sorry if i´m brazilian and my mother gave me breast milk! actually the lack of this nutricion when you were a child might have left you with and education like this!

It´s is good copy cause is an insight that 76% of the children has passed in their life! Your mother singing whlie feeding you! Try to think! Is hard but everyone can

What the hell do you think you're saying!?

What does it matter where you're from or whether or not your mother gave you breast milk. If you must know I was breast fed.

My point at the start and now is that the ad itself is weak and the copy isn't clever.

Jeez. "She sang like Janet Jackson, with a breast out"?? Who thinks that this is an appropriate way to say happy mothers day?

I don't mind tits or whatever. I'm talking about an ad doing it's job and this one doesn't hit the mark.

I think what "Nice copy." 'do mean' is that they... liked the copywriting? It's a stretch, I know.

Also, the ad is speaking about breast-feeding. Even if your astranged mother didn't sing to you, she would (supposedly, at least) understand the situation.

You're an ignorant arsehole boy in the thrush. That said, not keen on this ad at all. Beside from the bad grammer (which I assume the original would be in Spainish/Portuguese?) concept doesn't really ingender to the mother, which is the target audience after all.

If I may say so, I dont mind when people contribute their opinions on ads. I love it, thats the reason I joined here. I like to know what other people think of some ads, but the language, obscenity(?) and insults that are thrown without a good reason just doesn't fit in with people who supposed to be educated and able to make Graphic Designs and Advertisements.

I too think that telling on Ivan is a wee childish. If you dont like him stand up for yourself and confront him. But "Guy in the bushes" I don't know if something happened or youre just angry, but no need to curse and be so rude.

I didn't start talking about anyone till you made this personal.

guy, please keep your comments germane to the subject at hand...which, of course, would be the ads and most certainly not cutting people down. im not saying your the only one who isnt polite from time to time but there is no need for added friction.

Knock what off? I made one single comment asking you to cut out the insults. Sorry if that offends you on some strange level.

You made your points??? I dont think you did actually. This is what you said: "It's stupid and crap and strage considering it's aimed at mothers everywhere."

You've only stated an opinion with no reasoning behind it. (You also missed the target of the spot, which would be the children..not the moms themselves.) Then you waited for a response and decided to insult people rather than back up your whim.

So, in actuality, you weren't really talking about the ad now were you? Now, if you want to enlighten us all as to why you 'dont feel it works' I will be more than happy to 'debate' with you.

Ask the bartender to put another Guiness on your tab, I've nearly finished my first pint.

Cooxie's picture

Okay, let's talk about what you say. You sounded angry right away in your first comment, before anyone else made it personal (I quote you):

"These are whack. What the hell do mean "nice copy"?
It's stupid and crap and strage considering it's aimed at mothers everywhere.
My mum didn't sind to me with her tit out. Where the hell did you guys grow up? The 'Outback' with all the other chinless wonders?"

Saying something is "stupid and crap" isn't a constructive criticism.

I personally find you more interesting when you say: "She sang like Janet Jackson, with a breast out"?? Who thinks that this is an appropriate way to say happy mothers day?"

We all have an ego, there is nothing wrong with that, but can you please stop giving us lessons and telling us what to do in each message? I bet it will be hard for you not to tell me to grow a brain and see an analyst in your next one... am I wrong?

I think this ad is interesting because it makes us think and talk a lot. Great! Is that the best ad ever for mothers day? I don't know. But there is for sure a cultural reference with Janet Jackson, a visual reference using the "explicit Lyrics" logo, a provocative copy, and an unusual approach to talk about mothers day. There is some work behind it, whether we like the result or not. I think this ad is awesome and well thought, considering its client and target audience. It doesn't have to please everyone. If I had something to reproach, I would only say that the art direction/photo could have been better.

Disco Munky's picture

You guys are no fun. I feel like I'm in the room with a bunch of super grown up, uber cool, intellectual adults who are way more smarter than little stooopid me. I must be wrong because I don't feel as smug as you all sound

In plain english with no jibes at anyone. The visual is nice enough (you're right about the album cover possibly being better), although the 'parental guidance' sicker has been used allot. Good place to remind kids that mothers day is approaching. The copy was the only thing I felt was letting the ad down. Being sentimental on Mothers Day is pretty normal. Drawing ties between the Janet Jackson "Nipple Slip" and breast feeding was a little odd. What she did was a blatantly sexual act in which she exposed herself to an entire country. Breast-feeding is the most natural thing in the world. There isn't much over lap there apart from they both involve breasts. I don't think it wrong (as in "you're going to hell" wrong) just odd that referencing your mums tit should be funny on mothers day. I know my mum wouldn't get it, I'd explain, she'd say something like "Oh my goodness" laugh and carry on with singing and breast feeding me.

You guys can suck the fun out of a good old fashioned internet slagging match. The good thing about those is that when you stop typing....
