Dowry. It's the dirtiest word.
Here are some posters or a women's organization, against dowry. In India, dowry is the amount a bride's parents have to pay the groom's family. Though banned by law, it's a serious social probem that cuts across the socio-economic classes. Client's still figuring out where to display the posters, away from the eyes of children.

I absolutely loved the idea.
Great work.
Must win an award. rocking man. congrats to Sabu and Satheesh. would love to see on roadside billboard
Needs a lot of courage to run something like this. But again bigger risk lies in coming up with something safe & safe goes unnoticed.
hey it makes everyone worth his salt crave to say 'Fuck-I-wish-I-cud-do-this'.
Bingo! Gr8 going guys.
On paper an excellent creative anywhere in the world.
But who will stand upto release it guys? Just who?
For India is ruled by corruption, religion and politics.
(Suck Up if you want to stay afloat)
This has everyone taking sides and sealing their mouths.
To raise serious issues you need courage. Some suits talk effectivity! Ha
Is there real freedom of speech in this country? Do we uphold the Constitution?
I guess Im a dreamer but Im not the only one...
Probably my hopes to make it in advertising are over by now for this piece.
But if there's one brother out there who shares my thoughts. Come together...
We shall do what we can.
Peace. Love. Empathy.
Hey this looks good on paper but is really goin to move the people. does it touch them in anyway.
'dowry is a bad thing' is that the message???? then i really dnt think it can work for the masses.
sorry bt the TG isnt advertising agencies!!!1
Motherfuckers, cocksuckers and fucking pricks will not move by this ad, else will move.
we have to change the way we think, should have courage enough to atleast think like this.
10/10 again for the team of the campaign
I agree. Remember when the world zigs. You zag. Show them the fucking finger.
tidbitz
I'd like someone senior like Suhel Seth to comment on the above creatives especially
since he's from Delhi and knows zillions of things about India and advertising
and is keen to express when he feels. Suhel if you're tuned in!
Suhel Seth heads Equus Redcell and is a voice to reckon with since donkey's years on so
many varied things and immensely hearable, readable... ;)
Ps - Pass on this thread and get Suheil out here from your end to put things in 'real perspective'.
Goes without saying that I will do what I can.Regards
Only idiots who dont understand Indian culture will applaud this ad. It is an opinion that this women s group are expressing and an ignorant one at that. How about saying 'motherfucker' to all colonialist supporters who expect the rest of the world to adapt to their lifestyle.
Wow, there's vulgarity. That must instantly mean that they're being "edgy" and "real". The reality is that it's desperate and thin. I think we've all tried this in college. Nice theory behind it, but at the end of the day an ad needs to be seen. Plus, just because the word "motherfucker" tickes your fancy as an advertiser doesn't mean it will be looked at as brilliant in the marketplace. If the intended target is Indian families about to marry of their daughters, it doesn't take a marketing guy to figure out that this is way off base.
very nice campaign!
hey in india everyone understands english, or is it translated so that we can understand?
I don't like it either, dragulescu youre right
dowry isn't so bad, the newlyweds use it for themselves anyway
This makes me drive off the road which is what a good billboard should do. Great thought.
Alamak, no indie typu?
