The sisterhood collective: Do not demand

The sisterhood collective: Do not demand

Dowry. It's the dirtiest word.

Here are some posters or a women's organization, against dowry. In India, dowry is the amount a bride's parents have to pay the groom's family. Though banned by law, it's a serious social probem that cuts across the socio-economic classes. Client's still figuring out where to display the posters, away from the eyes of children.

Oops. On first glance I thought it was advertising some militant vegan organisation.

"Say no to dairy, motherfucker..."

I'm curious...how was the ad accepted in India?

scam ka baap. would have been really hard-hitting if you guys had done it in hindi or some other vernacular language. i guess it would have been tough to hit the awards circuit. but in any case this one will have a tough time getting juries convinced about it being genuine. Is THE SISTERHOOD COLLECTIVE looking for good work from other agencies too?

Please go ahead and genuinely do it as wall grafitti in hindi. will work big time. fuck the name of the ngo. as long as the message is communicated who cares if the ngo gets publicity.

<3
I first thought it said dairy too, but then I saw it's about dowries.
Damn, my uncle's gonna get a kick outta this (He's Indian- dowries
are a sore point with him and my Aunt)

I just wonder: where do they display these?
Looks like a magazine ad.
