I know The Economist overcomplicates some ads, so that 'only' their target audience will understand, but this seems beyond understanding to me.

Yeah I think that's right. Ecomonist has been around from 1843 and been in the 'business' of helping people get smarter... They've used old 'business' shop signs to illustrate that. Look good, cool signs.

I think the concept is great, BUTTT some of the ad ideas are just complete fails.

It might capture the graduate or management trainnee to perfection for whom 'climbing' is exactly what they have ahead of them. So a broadcast to a niche?
