Bravly shown the economist. As long as these red campaign is run. I do only get The economist as red color.

I think is "Get the complete picture with The Economist"

chinaski's picture

needs a hammer and a sickle.

hahaha the hammer and sickle would make it better

eCommunist! hahaha...

A complete picture of nothing??

It's a love or hate situation, Eugene. I don't think you did that.....

Dear god, its pretty good but I am so sick of the Economist. Although I did think of a new tag-line; 'The Economist - Up its own ass!'

Anyone?

No?

Fair enough.

It's only an ad.

yep. Absolut changed their bottleshape recently. Maybe The Economist will go through that path either.

clearly fake

Maybe they are thinking about the Big Red China market, the guy is looking at its flag!

I've seen much better stuff from this agency.

It's the big picture... I'm pretty sure that's why they have that little bit of a normal size painting on the bottom right.

"You See Red" by The Economist
Approx. 110' x 80' (non-framed), Oil on canvas, circa 2007, Asia
Original art sold by owner. Value (in USD): (seller takes whatever he can get for it)
Condition: Very good. Just needs real concept.

I see an art exhibition
I see a big picture
I see red
I see nothing else >_<

I think its good and the thing that makes it better is the fact you don't see the whole picture, but I was a feral art student so I am guessing I understand this more than the target. Unless art students are to new economists?

Like it. Let's you interpret. It's an art.

>>>> That's not an ad. THIS is an ad.

Literally, we see it as the BIG PICTURE. But for me, I felt the ad is about "how small we get when we're reading the Economist"

"Bowww Wowww"

Big picture but blank

overwhelmed.yeah.

I guess its': "Get the big picture.", ... but it's a little too slow for me.

giant red space?

overscaled? or overstated?

if the title 'big picture' doesn't indicate, wrong interpretions can happen easily.

If you look at the full creative you see other pictures hanging beside it, ie. it's in a gallery. I don't think it is rocket science to figure out they're saying "Big Picture".

Hey, I take that as an insult..

You're right, but I think the art director was being a bit TOO subtle with it, it is still open to misinterpretation. At least here it is anyway.

Blahg's picture

Good point. I think if you came across this ad in print, where it was easier to see the other pictures, that maybe it would be more apparent.

i dont get the ad, why there's a man standing there?

title of this work is an idiom and has double meaning. Type it in some dictionary.
