Are children really the target for this product? Sportlife? Besides, getting gum on your hair has nothing to do with size. All it takes is for a person to fall asleep with gum in their mouth, been there...

Dude, of course getting gum in your hair has nothing to do with size... But when getting a big gum in your hair you need to cut more hair te remove it.

gmint7's picture 2679 pencils

:::J:::
the others work better
this one the in real we'd just cut the top hair.. no matter how big.

this site's commentary has been taken over by literalists.

this is funny. it's gum.

Crisp One's picture 2031 pencils

i agree this is very funny, parents will get a kick out of it for sure

Roger Daly's picture 361 pencils

Would have thought bigger gum = >head-sized gum bubbles = more / all hair cut.

Guest commenter's picture

Great idea, excellent execution!
...and very funny

Rhialto's picture 21 pencils

Damn funny!

ninjak's picture 76 pencils

hahaha, kids still do that? i remember doing that in grades school and got into a lota trouble for it.

Guest commenter's picture

funny = good

Guest commenter's picture

very good!

Davosk's picture 4853 pencils

The product doesn't seem to me to be a bubble gum.

guestgirl's picture

Done, done, done in the better way by Leo Burnett Brasil:

if it hasn't run, it doesn't exist!

this guy says it's in his book only

Guest commenter's picture

yes it is a ghost and then!

"How can you intentionally copy a campaign that never ran? Copying assumes that they have seen it - how can they see something that has not been published?"

john doe's picture 1575 pencils

What does a gum called sportlife has to do with ruined haircuts – besides it is big and sticks to the hair...?
Maybe it looks funny – but who's gonna buy the product due to that message?

Sorry, I miss the point here. But maybe I am just in a bad mood.

Guest's picture

funny ads!

corporal_hicks's picture 367 pencils

Like it.

SeanMartin's picture

Call me a literalist if you want, but this campaign is just a little too hard to wade through. Like an earlier poster said, I thought this was something for GreatClips or some other hair cutting chain. As an ad for gum, the connection is so tenuously done as to be practically non-existent. This is one of those moments when a pithy copywriter could save this mess.

--------------------------

Here, let me save everyone the trouble of asking. "Do you even work in advertising?"

kgeiger's picture 6642 pencils

LOL!

huke duke's picture

yes it was done for hubba bubba by french students.
it was on AOTW and many other blogs.
only released online but released, so even if the original was a ghost, this one is a copy.

sorry

Guest commenter's picture

your so called 'original' is pis poor shite, if you ask me.
if it hasnt run, then it doesnt excist. that is how it works.

Total killer though, this [bigger gum] ad.
Congratulations!

Guest commenter's picture

a student work can be stolen.
even if it wasn't released, student portfolio are online, and students show their work to many agencies, so it is a copy of a student work.

congralutions to the students

Crisp One's picture 2031 pencils

agencies who steal from other people get theirs in the end, or I at leased like to believe the people who green light it get colon cancer.

jayz's picture

sorry guys but
this bigger gum product isnt bubble gum.
it's just big gum, it got in their kids hair. its like the morning after, really
like it! i've been there, going to be with chewing gum

clever

Guest commenter's picture

How can you be sure that it's a copy? I find it pretty possible that this idea can occur to more people than just one independently, that being said...this one is better executed.

good work but, i think is the same concept as http://www.coloribus.com/paedia/prints/2007/06/19/202188/

Jayz's picture

you -think- it's the same concept?
do you know what concept means? you have obviously no clue, dude

btw
top ad, guys

ivan's picture

that's the same visual but a totally different concept.

yesaa's picture

very cute ha, but it took a few seconds to understand, good work though

concept means idea, it's a much cooler word, its a different idea, different concept,
paedia was about fine pasta as fine as angels hair, this is about the cliché that kids get gum in their hair
a different idea, different concept voilaaa

richie.the's picture

I quite like it! lol took me few secs to get it too..

lol

word2bigbird's picture 12 pencils

is it just me or does she look a bit like "Dr. Evil"

Guest commenter's picture

How about a popped bubble engolfing the entire persons head? I liked these ads and they are interesting enough to make me do a little investigation into the product. Good job.

Guest's picture

Done or not done, this type of ad has been done to the bone. Exagerate the negative. Always works, but just is not very original.

Guest's picture

The bigger the gum, the smaller the idea.
