It's a shame they only used guitars. It's not the only game being played.

Ummm... but isn't it about getting people to play real guitar? So, I guess that's why they only show guitars....
Funny.

I like this better than the other one. :)

"Nihil sub sole novum"
Good one...Only a guitar player can know the power of these ads
:)
Bravo!
i like the headline!!!
Very nice! But would kids know a lyric form 90's, when they were born after that?
That's exactly what I thought. I like this series very much, but it makes you wonder who they are talking to... "starter guitar" ads that reference lyrics from 20 years ago.

Dude, i met 20+ ppl who just adores this guitar kid games...
Also dont get so much amazed, kids from 13~14 around are looking for old bands, my lil bro knows about Deep Purple, Yes and Cream, so how about just some popular bands from 90s like Nirvana? thats nothing special or weird
naw kids know "smells like teen spirit". It is in the playlist for most of those games.
bravísimo! i think this is the best one
I'm a guitar. And touched me deep. Cool ads!
(yawn) clearly video games and actual real guitars are two different things all together. thus making the whole strategy of this campaign super flimsy. another pathetic attempt by ReStink to win cheap awards with micro clients. sad.
their biz card for the hobby shop was cute though...
Agreed. Also, the next few generations of these games will see the instruments become more and more real until you are literally playing an instrument training game. Then burgeoning musicians from all over the world will be able to collaborate and create new music. I hate ads that show vieeogame players as lazy slobs, what a quaint stereotype!
It's already happening. Rock Band 3 allows you to hook up a real guitar and learn how to play.
You know that the sale of real guitars have gone through the roof since rockband came out, right?
The idea that young people wouldn't recognize the reference to Nirvana is nonsense. The idea that this generation needs to 'get' rock 'n roll rebellion is a pathetic attempt of older generations to make themselves and their past experiences relevant again: we get it, we just don't want to copy your fads. We'd rather have fun playing a game together.
The negerative comments belongs to guys who are slob. I love these guitars and let's just enjoy it with our family oky! Quit complaining over little details!
Well, when I play Bad Company 2 I don`t want to go out and shoot someone in the face, it´s just a game and I just want to have fun with it.
Believe it or not, there are people who don't want to be a real rock star, they just want play a video game.
They should stop wasting money on ads like these knocking gamers and put that money into schools where music programs are being cut everyday.
hmm.... so, because I play rock band, this ad assumes that I don't know how to play a REAL guitar or drums... and that I'm a slob and I still live with my parents...
tsktsktsk... these ads have FAIL written all over them. Making an entire group of people feel alienated because they choose to play a game over real guitar, when in fact, Rock Band and Guitar Hero are making younger kids pick up a guitar or some sticks and try out the real thing.
As a musician for 15 years who enjoys playing Rock Band because it's great to get a group of people together and HAVE FUN, these ads are deplorable.
Deplorable? I know gamers are a touchy bunch of twats (I'm one of 'em) but why is it that people can't take a joke any more? There's no message here beyond "try a real guitar". Touchy indeed.
Mr. This Generation (My Generation? Oh, right, it doesn't exist because it happened before you were born, awesome!) has a point that most miss about these games; people play them because it is much easier to simulate playing music than to actually play music, they are experiences that appeal for different reasons. It'll be interesting to watch nobody buy the RB3 Squier, but one suspects it is as much a marketing ploy (YES, you're just having fun, playing a game...but ANY MINUTE you could switch over to a real guitar and totally rock!) as a business model...
Wow, people are salty. To the dude that made the crack about the size of the client: I wonder if your clients are as big as your head.
Nice Nirvana reference, I loved it! Ok, agreed about the fact that this generation may not be familiar with these lyrics, but it doesn't change the value of the subtle message of the ad. I would hang it in my wall :)

Playing guitar games and playing real guitar not have to exclude each other.
I know enough people, who like both. So I think they did not a good job on
their target group analysis.
