That proposition isn't sitting comfortably with me.

If it was something like "Love your walls again..."

or simply "make your walls invaluable"

might help the back-handed humour.

>>>> That's not an ad. THIS is an ad.

hmmm, i thought in egypt, islam is the state religion ...
beeing blasphemic in advertising is okay but being blasphemic against other religions always seems a bit weak to me... imagine an ad in a christian country using religious symbols of islam that way...

Good point.

Would never happen and rightly so.

So it shouldn't happen like this ad either.

xcuse me i dont say its a good thing to do ....
but christians always do that

The one with the wedding photo is better. This one is questionable - might be a bit dangerous...
Anyway, I like the concept.

amit parekh's picture 283 pencils

i dint get it.. can u explain plz?

elmikel's picture 1153 pencils

...you're painting the wall without much care about what's on the wall, no matter how precious it might be. The most precious thing for you is the painted wall itself.

...yeah... just like that famous Stella Artois campaign

You're actually correct!

somebody say, "that aint right!" coz really...it aint. poking any kind of fun at peoples religious beliefs is kinda tricky. you might make you point come across, but devaluing people's fundamental beliefs to do so is just plain low...

pieter's picture 218 pencils

but the wall would look better if he simply removed the crap off it before he painted .. umm am I missing something? or does this not work

A. J. SMITH's picture 2850 pencils

Yeah, thats why I thought it was weak as well.

gibshellenberger's picture 157 pencils

bad taste

Robert_Paulson's picture 18 pencils

Things like a little Jesus figure would be real easy to remove before painting though. I'm guessing provocitive vandalism to a religious object for provactive vandalism's sake.

I'd buy Dulex

it could be that the graphic designer even a christian, there are about the 17 % christians in egypt, and a muslim designer wont do that any way, causefor him thats not the most precious things, so every body calm down and enjoy,., and try not to find a meaning hidding behind my words

addyhoch10's picture 2599 pencils

maybe he is christian, maybe the whole team is part of the christian minority.
i'm not sure if this has been done for egypt (guess so, because it's an egyptian agency).
but if it has been done for egypt i think it's... well.. gruff.
they should have taken the islamic equivalent or even better, think of somehing else.
just my 2 cents.

candleshades's picture 19 pencils

i think if it has been done for egypt, the first people that would be angry , would be the muslims there

A. J. SMITH's picture 2850 pencils

In general I think this campaign is mediocre, it works ok but doesn't excite me much,

This execution however is irritating, and potentially offensive to Chrsitians.

I always question why someone has a laugh at a religions expense.

You know it will upset someone but do it anyway.

These ads doon't really do it for me incedently.

These ads were never released in Egypt and will never be...
They are yet another set of ads created by the JWT Cairo creatives
that will never see light of day except in cyberspace.
Personally I don't like the concept because removing the objects will serve the wall much better.
Moreover the Jesus statue here has been put to create controversy. Period.
