Beautiful art, but a bit superficial.
Unlike the google earth print ads done lately, the high angle view has no real concept behind it.

That's common knowledge, and still I think that it's a bit superficial.
So many mexicans are attracted to the beer, so what?
I really love the art, but the problem is that there's no real reasoning for the high angle view here.
When google earth did it, it's because that's the way they see the world.

Err.... don't you remember those visual jokes where the hat is drawn with various things protruding and it's always what's this? Invariably, the answer was a Mexican taking a piss...

.. there are more, when the answer is a Mexican is walking on a train railway..
or carrying a ladder!
that is why these ads are smart+fun

Of course I remember, and that's what I meant when I said I like the art direction, but I don't see this kind of humor and sophistication in these prints.
If the ads would have made some kind of joke that is connected to beer, then I would say the ads are smart too.

I agree with you!! but I think its never too late on your last point..
they can do that as a continuation to this campaign, an other 3 or 4 funny ones, it will give a very nice impact..
I really like these ads I've been looking at them to figure what each sombrero is doing.. ;-P

i think these ads make more sense once you watch the tv spot. The visual joke connecting the high angle visual was that you weren't really sure what was going on untill the end which gave it that TA DA! moment, the problem with the print ads is that you can see the punch line of the joke without the set up. thats why i like the tv spot better, its more suited to the concept

I'm mexican and I find this insulting. It's full of awful, boring and rather old and used cliches. For you Facebook users please refer to a group called: I'm Mexican and I don't travel in "burro" or wear a giant "sombrero".

yeah, i agree. it's boring. there's no justification for the wide shot; nothing's really happening. a tighter shot with just a couple of sombreros in a funny, new context would have been better.

I cant believe this cliche , its so insulting and poor way to express the concept ,it is a poor copy of one advertising of Absolute Vodka , I'm mexican and I cannot believe that in new zeland exist so many ignorant people.
