Hey guys,
Nice work. It's a fun concept with a lot of legs. I think it's an even better idea if you take it outside of print and actually make parking spaces for smart cars in funny places. Perhaps this has been done. I don't know because there are so many ads done now, it's hard to keep up. But it's cool for a student ad for sure. Think about the type choice. I'm not sure it's there yet. But overall nice work.

Thanks, Paula Abdul.

Decent idea but it seems to me that you can "create" smaller parking spots in a better way...

Yes I think Neil might have been onto something phoamcor about doing something better. They did do a smart car ad a long time ago that was kind
of similar to this where it had 2 smart cars parked in 1 normal car spot so kind of similar to above. I think how Mini did the whole guzzling America thing
is a great example of how to think a little more unexpected. All i can say is well done your thinking is def up there with people in the industry.

the campaign is strong but this particular execution is weak.
they just wouldn't change the distance between the meters to accomodate your car whereas you would plow less in front of your garage.

kill this one. I'm serious, it weakens your campaign. make another plow-ad. what would a rural road during the fall look like when a smart had gone past it? how about its shadow? there is so much there.

Bring it outdoors!!

i see here the posts are bit artificial. u can see it has duplicated.
but it's ok. better u made it bit different and the put shadows on the floor.
enyway very nice campaign guys. well done.

Lazy art direction, but a very nice idea. The one parking metre is falling over.

This type of stuff really pisses me off.

Sorry, but as a student who want to get my work out there it pretty much angers me. I have submitted work that is better than this and it has gotten rejected! I'm talking about work that has won awards (Addys.) So its not just that I think my work is all that good, but its actually proffesionals in the industry who think so. So when my work gets rejected and this type of stuff gets put on the front page it actually burns a little. I know that is advertising and I should get used to it, but still man, come on.

This is, in my opinion, the #1 site for creative advertising and to get stuf like this on the front page... come on IVAN. I am being 100% real when I say that this idea is something that would get THROWN OUT on the first day of thumbnails by my teacher. I mean, so what if you get a smaller parking spot... THERE ARE NO OTHER CARS PARKED THERE!!!!! What's the benefit? How hard/ easy is it to park there? Do you pay the meter less?

And the shots/ art direction.... DAMN. Come on IVAN you can do better than this... My submissions may not be the best, but PLEASE don't disrespect me and others who submit our work by posting this kind of BULL...

Sorry, I may be just be venting (It has been a long day) but I was SHOCKED when I saw this on the front page.

Keep that fire in your belly and you'll be fine.

I don't deny that my judgment is subjective. I'm trying my best to be as objective as possible, but of course no system is perfectly objective. Sorry if I rejected your work, it's nothing personal.

topawers's picture 143 pencils

I not only agree with you on everything, but the idea has been DONE so many times in much better ways. Plus, the line is lame.

Yeah, lets all kill IVAN!

Add insult to injury then burn the candle at both ends.
