San Francisco SPCA: Pacifier

The kittens have arrived!
San Francisco felines have been extra frisky these days, which means we have lots of kitties waiting for adoption. And the only thing better than a bundle of cuteness is two. Bring home 2-for-1 kittens all season long!
250 Florida Street | sfspca.org/kittens

When the heat rises, San Francisco cats get busy. Nobody knows this better than the San Francisco SPCA where twice a year they receive a huge influx of kittens into their shelters. G2 was tasked with creating an awareness campaign that would drive kitten adoptions during these times, referred to as "kitten season." We decided to have fun with the serious problem of feline overpopulation, turning it into a joyous occasion celebrating the birth of these adorable fur balls — and in essence, using babies to sell kittens. Irresistible!

Agreed. Black humor should not be used when you are supposedly promoting a good cause.

I think it's supposed to look like a cat toy, not a live mouse... and babies don't eat pacifiers. Also, even the ASPCA will acknowledge dogs and cats are carnivores.

I agree with tirthomitro, photoshop is weak but the concept is excellent.

Nice, but is this really enough to attract the right audience?
Until I read the copy I had no idea what it was about. How many people looking for kittens are going to skip over this because it's not immediately apparent what the ad is about?
I read somewhere that consumers' typically spend 3 seconds looking at each advert. If it hasn't communicated the message by then it risks losing a lot of potential customers.
