April 2012

Rationale: In Romania, the number of accidents involving drivers who are texting behind the wheel is increasing alarmingly. The Romanian Police wants to raise awareness around the issue, especially towards the executive type (owners of a smartphone) who regard themselves as multitasking.

Idea: Therefore, we create a “reader’s” campaign. We’ve inserted the danger into a driver’s text message, suggesting the sudden accident in typo as it happens on the road.

Print advertisment created by Publicis, Romania for Romanian Police, within the category: Public Interest, NGO.

Texting while you drive will end badly. Don't.

? Makes sense to me. Says tree instead of there to tell the viewer that he hit a tree and won't be right there.

That worked for me -- made me think s/he hit a tree.

But if it doesn't make sense to lots of people, then it's not the one to go with.

Does this same sentence work the same in Romanian? I'm guessing not.
