i was asking myself the same question.
anyway the same wordplay (and funnier) was used in penguin books ad.
the shadow of scissor look like strange
(terrible english)
holly cow... the scissor is floating..
Herbert Hernandez use scissors in the cuttin pad then....
doesn't make sense
hmmmm?
i dont understand this ad, ask Regine velasquez to sing, i understand whatever she say.
What's the cutting mat for?
honestly? why take things so literal...
the cutting mat unifies the whole thing visually, goes with paper and scissors, that is if you are old than personal computers when you had to make artwork with tools!
You don't use a cutting mat with scissors.
To "unify the whole thing visually" you need to scrap the scissors and replace them with a scalpel/craft knife.

Unimaginative, boring ... elementary.
Hello?????????
?????? it need a cutter not a scissor.
it needs.. ? :) you must first be aware of their campaign before you will understand the message of the ad.
I'd LOVE you to try THAT idea on your audience. :D
"Hey target audience! Read be aware of our campaign before you understand the message of the ad!" XD
it's a red mobile ad campaign. it's really not concrete. if you're not aware of their TVCs you won't get the point of this ad.
suncellular, one of red mobile's rivals offers unlimited calls. that's why they have this ad, saying that with their services you won't get disrupted calls.
i can see the idea because i've seen the tvc.. but without it even filipinos won't get the point.
read "HELL.... O"
messages delivered better with good, clear and undisturbed connection....guess thats one of the idea...
you don't wanna call your loved ones and say, "HELL!"
very weak...sorry...
