Let me guess... the client didn't go with either of these directions!
This is the first negative comment I've ever posted.
I'm trying not to think less of Febreze because of this ad.
But this is so unpleasant. Surely there is a less crass, way to get across the benefit.
Yes, sh__ is a fact of life, but I learned at a very young age,
that looking at it is really yucky, and that I would be better off to look away.
And ads are like guests in our home - they ought to maintain a sense of decency.
Well, I just looked at the other ads in the series, and I think they are all very good.
So, I'm impressed to see that you did come up with
less crass ways to get across the benefit.
I think it's great, negative connotation or not. The message is clear: Febreze kills odours. I totally dig it :)
